Trump Renews Call to Promote Mentally Ill

President Trump today renewed his call to promote the mentally ill after a mass shooting at the hands of 19 year-old Nikolas Cruz left 17 high school students dead in Parkland, Florida this week.

"Turns out lots of people knew this kid was a problem, and yet nobody hired him. Speak up, people!" Trump tweeted.

"If you see something, say something. So somebody in a position of power can give these people the high-paying jobs they need," the President followed.

Arguing that proactive measures are the most effective means of preempting violent acts by the mentally ill, Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway pointed to former colleague Rob Porter.

"Mr. Porter had been accused of domestic abuse by multiple partners before he came to work at the White House, after which all of that stopped," she said. "These people just need something to temper their boiling rage."

Though he conceded that Cruz would, "Have to go away for awhile," President Trump wouldn't rule out the possibility of employing the mass murderer in the future.

"He's a mixed up kid. It's sad. Maybe he did it, maybe he didn't. Who knows?" he said. "If he'd only come to me first. So sad."
