Taco Bell Seeking to Attract Workers with New Benefit

Hampered by an increasingly tight labor market, Taco Bell announced this week that it will enhance its efforts to lure fresh talent with the offer of a new benefit.

"With unemployment rates nearing record lows, it's a challenging environment for the fast food industry. That's why we're proud to announce this new benefit to make joining the Taco Bell team that much more attractive," Yum Brands spokesman Leonard Fickle remarked.

Taco Bell, which already provides its current employees wages in exchange for the work they perform, clarified that the benefit will be offered to all workers in addition to the money that they earn.

"This highly desirable benefit will be made available to all Taco Bell team members, free of charge," said Fickle.

Though the company has as yet declined to indicate what the new benefit will be, it did not refute that it could be subsidized health insurance, paid leave, or free tacos.

"I'm not in a position to disclose that information at this time, but I know that if I were looking for work I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at free tacos," Fickle said.
