Israel Threatens to Cut Off Gaza's Air Supply

Israels' Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant announced today that Gaza's supply of air will be shut off if Hamas does not surrender within 24 hours.

Having already cut electricity, food and water to the enclave, the smothering of its 2 million inhabitants would represent another dramatic escalation in the country’s fight against terrorism.

"The fighting power of any group is only as strong as its access to basic resources," US Defense Analyst Griffen Andrews remarked. "Sever its supply of fuel, ammunition, or, as the case may be, oxygen - with a giant, plastic dome-like structure, I would presume – and you not only restrict its ability to resist, but to carry on basic biological functions."

Added Andrews: "Because, it seems we can all conclude, depriving this particular group of any sense of security, dignity or happiness has yet to start working."

Meanwhile, in response to the global outcry that suffocating millions of people would be inhumane, Gallant pointed to the hundreds of Israelis killed over the past few days.

"After the Holocaust, the world said, 'Never again,' and never shall Israel allow anything like that ever to happen again," the Defense Minister said. "As for the Palestinians, we could possibly make their passing more comfortable – perhaps with some kind of gas."
